Barry Dixon Furniture Collection by Tomlinson/Erwin-Lambeth
“Represented within the scope of our new collection are elements from the gamut of aesthetic history – familiar forms and lines abstracted thoughtfully to allow evolved interpretation. A Queen Anne chair appears fresh when reconsidered as an upholstered back, while casting the familiar shadow of its ancestor. The echo of an Edwardian lounge here, paired with the pared down simplicity of an Arts & Crafts bench there, all geared to blend the best of the past with a vibrant present. It’s our opinion that this approach allows a set of “tools” for the modern designer to nuance their individual “formulae” in creating specific new spaces and interiors comfortably reverent to the past, but resonant of how we live after this “distillation process” of periods and culture today. These are the pieces that I needed, but couldn’t find, to bridge seemingly dissimilar styles, to link traditional and modern, and to relate period antiques to new purchases for my clients.”
